SOUTHEASTERN ANATOLIA TOUR WITH FLIGHT General Information About

                                                      Tour Capacity is Limited to 30 People.

1. Daily: ADANA-HATAY

 

We meet at 06:00 am at Antalya International Airport and take the flight to Adana departing at 07:25 via Sun Express. We get on our vehicle waiting for us in Adana Airport and start our city tour with Sabancı Central Mosque after having breakfast break on our way. This mosque, which is open to visitors in 1998, is considered the biggest mosque in Balkans and Middle East. After being informed about the mosque by the guide, we walk through the Seyhan River to the Stone Bridge which is the symbol of Adana one of the biggest cities in our country. We’ll have free time to take some pictures then we’ll move to see Grand Clock Tower and Ramazanoğlu Mansion. We have a lunch break then move to Hatay to see the first illuminated street in the World Kurtuluş Street which is 1478 m long. Then we’ll visit Habib-i Neccar Mosque which was the first mosque built in Anatolia and dedicated to a person who believes Jesus. We will take a walk towards the Long Bazaar and see Antakya Catholic Church, Antakya Jewish Synagogue in order.

One of the biggest bazaars of our country, The Long Bazaar is 3500 m long and allows you to shop with joy and find anything you need. We visit Harbiye Waterfall after the Long bazaar and move to Hatay for dinner and accommodation.

2. Daily: HATAY-GAZİANTEP

After having breakfast at our hotel, we start our visit with St. Pierre Memorial Museum, which was built from 29-40 AD. It’s called “the first cave church in the World” and was built by St. Pierre and his friends to spread the religion. We also visit the world’s second-biggest mosaic museum, Hatay Archeological Museum, and have a lunch break and move to Gaziantep.

Gaziantep city received the title of “Gazi” in 1927 with its glorious resistance.

Gaziantep’s city tour will start with visiting one of the richest mosaic museums, Zeugma Mosaic Museum. We’ll trace many mythological in the rich mosaic collection unearthed in the last 15 years from Zeugma, the most important city in the East of the Roman Empire. There are also many archeological pieces are being exhibited in the museum.

We will have free time for shopping in Gaziantep bazaars after the museum, then we’ll move to our hotel for dinner and accommodation.

3. Daily: GAZİANTEP-HALFETİ-ADIYAMAN

The first stop is Birecik after we have breakfast at the hotel. Here, we see the Milibis Baldibis Conservation Station and get information about this valuable species, which is in danger of extinction, and after about an hour’s bus ride, we come to Halfeti, which means “Karagül”.  We see Yavuzeli, Nizip, Şanlıurfa lands from one point, King’s Girl Cave, Greek Castle, Barşavma Monastery, and St. Narses Church during our tour.

After visiting Savaşan Village, which is partly underwater, by boat, we take our lunch and return to the pier and move to Adıyaman. We visit mosques from the Umayyad, Abbasid, Seljuk, and Ottoman periods with thousands of years of history, with the narration of our tour guide. We also see Ulu Mosque, Mor Petrus Church, which was served other religions, Adıyaman Museum where all the artifacts are exhibited from the Paleolithic age to the present day. We then move to Kahta.

We see the historical Cendere Bridge, Karakuş tumulus, Arsemia ancient site, and climb to Mount Nemrut where you can watch the most beautiful sunrise and sunset in the world. It’s 1150 m in height so we first take a minibus and then walk for half an hour to the top of the mountain. We get information from our guide about Gods on the East Terrace and take some pictures. We then move to the West terrace to watch the sunset.

After watching the sunset, we move to Kahta and then drive to our hotel in Adıyaman for dinner and accommodation.

4. Daily: GÖBEKLİTEPE- URFA

We head to Şanlıurfa after having breakfast at the hotel. Our stop will be Göbekli Tepe mound, located near Örencik village and hosting the World’s first temples of the history of civilizations, which is on the list of UNESCO WORLD CULTURAL HERITAGE.

The temples, which reflect the belief World of the prehistoric people and are enriched with animist figures, have made Göbekli Tepe one of the most important discoveries in the history of archeology.

It’s shown as the biggest archeological discovery in recent years. Göbekli Tepe is the first temple built in the time of hunter and gatherer human societies, which were far from the concepts of settlement and agriculture before they started city life.

The temple, which has not yet been found an answer to how it was designed about 12 thousand years ago, draws all the attention as it was built about 7500 years before the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge in England.

We move to Şanlıurfa after our visit Göbekli Tepe. We see Halepli Bahçe Museum Complex, where 10.000 artifacts are exhibited from Paleolithic Age and Islamic Period. We also visit Şanlıurfa Archeological Museum and then see St. İbrahim’s Authority, Kale and Gümrük Inn, Halil-ür Rahman Mosque, Aynzeliha Park, Fish Lake. We have free time to visit old bazaars for shopping.

At the end of the day, we check in our hotel, have some rest, and be ready for the culture of the region; Sıra Night.

5. Daily: URFA-MARDİN

We move to Mardin city center after having breakfast at our hotel. We leave the vehicle and start walking tour in Mardin Old City Square. Sometimes we walk through the main streets, sometimes the narrow streets via passages. We’ll see these places accordingly; Virgin Mary Church, Mardin Archeological and Ethnographic Museum, Abdüllatif Mosque, Gazi Pasha Elementary School, PTT building, Zinciriye Madrasa, Şehidiye Mosque, Sabancı Museum on foot. We then take a break for lunch in New Mardin.

Our first stop is Deyrulzaferan Monastery after lunch. We move to Kasımiye Madrasa. We are informed by our guide while we watch Mesopotamia’s view.

 

We then move to Midyat to see the governor’s guest house, which hosted the shootings of many famous TV series in Midyat and is one of the most important examples of civil architecture in the region.

We see The Old Inn and the streets of Midyat and do shopping in Telkarisies Street. We move to our hotel in Mardin for dinner and accommodation.

6. Daily: HASANKEYF-DİYARBAKIR

We arrive in Hasankeyf, which is in danger of being submerged by the Ilısu Dam, after having breakfast at the hotel. We take a photo break near the new bridge then we move to Diyarbakır to see the world’s most well-preserved city walls. The city walls are on the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage and are considered as an open-air museum. They are 1.700 m from East to the West, 1.300 m from North to South, and 5 km long in total. It was built in the form of two walls, but the outer wall has been destroyed today. Traces of these outer walls can only be seen around the Mardin gate and Dağ gate today. The walls consist of 82 bastions and 4 main gates. Body walls are supported by buttresses. The main city gates are Harput(Mountain gate) on the North, Urfa(Greek) gate on the West, Mardin( Tell) gate on the South, Yenikapı ( Dicle and Şat) on the East. There are two more secondary Gates Hindibaba and Tekkapı which were opened during the Republic era.

We also visit the Ulu Mosque complex, which is one of the oldest mosques of Anatolia, Hasan Pasha Inn, which was built by Hasan Pasha between 1572-1575, inner castle, Diyarbakır Archeological Museum which has a rich collection, Şeyh Mutahhar Mosque which was built by Akkoyunlu ruler Kasım in order. We then photograph the historical bridge on the Dicle river and take a break.

We finish our tour and move to Diyarbakır Airport to take the flight at 20:20 to Antalya via Sun Express.
